Saturday we took advantage of the beautiful day for a taste of New York less travel across the Brooklyn Bridge walk to wander in the homonymous neighborhood. Dumbo in particular is a very artistic and full of characteristic views (albeit tiny). Back in the center we went Chinatown and Little Italy . The first quarter is a large and rather special, full of traditional food retailers absurd and foul odor, as well as trinkets of every kind and shape (except of interesting stuff). The second one is filled with Italian flags and restaurants with names like "From the Gigione untone" or "Benito". Beautiful crap.
Soho the contrary is a less touristy and very artsy neighborhood. There are people the main attraction, the type that runs in Vespino among the monstrous motor vehicles of the Big Apple to the classic Paris-wannabe. We hoped to find there a few grains, such as music stores and small ambushes etc. But we were disappointed. In the evening, returning home, we stopped at an Indian restaurant, and the fire has pervaded the Punjabi.
The next day we woke up rather late, so the idea faded MoMa meteorologists and threatening rain all the countries of roasted chestnuts and at least three of the seven plagues of Egypt (all wrong, as usual), we ventured to the time of the Guggenheim . Beautiful structure, the exposure a bit 'less. At least not last long and winding, so there's no risk of losing several times and do the same rooms. Having finished early we thought we'd go all 5th Avenue to watch the game from the city's rich tourist. The shops are found in all cities, but mysteriously close to the 5:30 to 6:00 pm. Discouraged by the laziness of the retailers we headed in the vicinity of Rockefeller Building obviously also closed, but crowded with tourists outside (golden attracted by features of the building as magpies). In the evening we saw huge disappointment with the closure of the restaurant Miyagi's old, so we did not find a better close the restaurant just next door (another Indian), finding happiness under the fire of Punjabi.
Today finally MoMA, where we remained closed until about 15:30. After eating from KFC for the first time since we are here we have completed the lower Manhattan with a trip to Tribeca , through Soho. Then metro to Columbus Circle and Central Park a refreshing nap until dinner. Good unagi-don from Miyagi - who has since reopened fortunately - and back to the hotel.
Maybe I'll write more - interesting - considerations on the city soon, now I look at the Griffin. But yesterday, Die Hard was more fun in English.
